Larry Dean Heaton, 90, of Linton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday evening, September 10, 2026.Born in Linton on December 27, 1935, Larry was the son of Darrell D. and Margaret (Klink) Heaton. A proud member of the Linton community throughout his life, he graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1954 before honorably serving his country in the United States Army.Larry’s life took him from Indiana to Florida, where he met the love of his life, Linda Jo Bottin, an Indiana native, in Hialeah. Their meeting began a devoted partnership that lasted more than six decades. Larry and Linda were married on October 3, 1964, and together built a life centered on faith, family, perseverance, and the simple joys of being together.Over the course of his career, Larry brought diligence and integrity to every role he held. He worked as a reservation supervisor for National Airlines in Miami, Florida; served as a Claims Representative for Farm Bureau Insurance; and later retired as a fire investigator for Donan Engineering. His work reflected his steady nature, attention to detail, and deep sense of responsibility.Larry was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton. Outside of work, he found great enjoyment in gardening and woodworking -pastimes that reflected both his patience and his ability to create, care for, and improve the world around him. Above all, Larry cherished the years he spent with Linda in retirement and the time shared with the family he loved so dearly.He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Linda Jo Heaton; his daughters, Jennifer Lynn (Jarred) Kincaid and Beth Ann (Brad) Shaeffer; and his grandchildren, Nicholas (Maddi) Shaeffer, Zachary Kincaid, Kate Lynn Kincaid, Jordan (Haley) Shaeffer, and Brandon Shaeffer.He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell D. and Margaret Heaton.Military honors and funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, a Walton Funeral Service, with Pastor Phillip Turner officiating.Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. and will continue following the service until 5:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church Dwell Program. Ginger Frances Anderson Beatty, age 76, of Worthington, Indiana, passed away on September 9, 2026, at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton, Indiana, following a lengthy illness. Born Virginia Frances Anderson in Harrison County, Kentucky, and raised in Cynthiana, Kentucky, she was known throughout her life as Ginger. She was the daughter of Clarence Edward Anderson and Mary Lena Hutchison Anderson. She graduated from Harrison County High School with honors and later attended Southeastern Christian College in Winchester, Kentucky. Ginger worked for many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Larry Kuhlenschmidt in Lyons, Indiana. She was a faithful Christian and attended Lincoln Christian Church of Jasonville, where she helped with church newsletters and contributed to the church cookbook. A favorite family story began years before her marriage to David. While working as a dental assistant, Ginger cleaned the teeth of a patient named David Beatty. Neither could have imagined that years later they would be introduced by mutual friends at a Valentine's dinner at Lincoln Christian Church. What began as a blind date became a lasting love story, and they were married on June 9, 1994, at Lincoln Christian Church. Together they shared 32 years of faith, family, friendship, and adventure. Family was at the center of Ginger's life. She loved gathering people together, sharing stories, saving photographs, and making memories with her children and grandchildren. Together, Ginger and David enjoyed traveling, RV adventures, timeshare vacations, and special trips with dear friends Larry and Rosie Gradl of Wisconsin. Taking their grandchildren along on many of those adventures was one of their greatest joys. She is survived by her husband, David Phillip Beatty; her daughter, Stephanie Ann Fields Carson (Eric James Carson); her son, Jonathan Edward Fields (Rachel Miron Fields); her grandchildren, Rachel Ann Carson, Tyler James Carson, Hannah Rose Fields, Emma Wright Fields, and Grace Lillian Fields; her stepchildren, Michael Beatty (Melissa Beatty) and Michelle "Miki" Beatty Burris (Paul "Sonny" Burris); her step-grandchildren, Danielle Burris, Kyle Burris, Matthew Beatty, Mitchell Beatty, and Mark Beatty; her step-great-grandchildren, Kayden and Magnolia (mother, Danielle) and Amelia (father, Kyle); her nieces and nephews, Laura Burns Huesman (Richard), Andrew Burns (Kennon), Jason McNeil (Kerri), Ashley McNeil Lewis (Michael), and Leslie McNeil Pasley (Alvin); and her beloved dog, Jill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Edward Anderson and Mary Lena Hutchison Anderson; her sisters, Janet Lee Anderson Burns and Linda Clarice Anderson McNeil; and her niece, Whitney McNeil. Ginger will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her love of family, and her gift for bringing people together. The photographs she saved, the stories she shared, and the memories she created will continue to be treasured by those who loved her.Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cliff Gano officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland Indiana. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Worthington on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2:00-6:00 PM, and from 9:00 AMMonday until the time of service.Memorial contributions may be made to Liver Foundation Association. Kay C. Sisk, 76, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 1:37 a.m. on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026, in the emergency room at Greene County General Hospital - a place that held special meaning in her life, where she had served others as a nurse and found great purpose in caring for her community.Born in Linton on October 12, 1949, Kay was the daughter of Clyde “Buddy” Workman, Jr. and Helen Lois (Cox) Workman. She was a proud 1967 graduate of L & M High School and went on to graduate from the Ivy Tech Nursing Program in 1974. Nursing was more than a profession to Kay; it was a calling. Throughout her career, she cared for countless patients as an emergency room nurse at Linton's Freeman Greene County General Hospital and Greene County General Hospital. She also served as Assistant Director of Nursing at Trilogy Nursing Home before retiring. Kay especially enjoyed sharing her knowledge and encouraging the next generation of caregivers through her work teaching Certified Nursing Assistant courses.Kay’s life was guided by compassion, faith, generosity, and a sincere love for people. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton and treasured her connection with the Sisters of Providence at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, where she served as a Providence Associate. Her faith was reflected not only in the way she lived, but in the quiet, thoughtful ways she reached out to others.A gifted writer and devoted correspondent, Kay had a special way of making people feel remembered and loved. Whether through a handwritten card, a heartfelt note, or words shared from the heart, she used writing to keep close to the people who mattered most to her. She was social by nature, warmly welcoming and deeply giving, and she never missed an opportunity to offer kindness, encouragement, or support.Kay also held a deep love for animals. Her compassion extended beyond people through her volunteer work with the Greene County Humane Society. She found joy in their companionship and in helping provide them with care.To her family, Kay was a treasured keeper of memories. As the family historian, she devoted countless hours to genealogy, researching names, preserving stories, and honoring the generations who came before. Through that work, she created a lasting gift for her family - one rooted in connection, history, and love.She is survived by her sister, Debbie McCallum; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Shaw (Kelly), Jeff McCallum (Abby), Bob Lewis (Penny), David Lewis, Cindy Leadman, Mary Zygai, Anthony Lewis, and Nathan Lewis; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry forward her memory.Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde “Buddy” Workman, Jr. and Helen Lois (Cox) Goodman; her sister, Connie (Bennie) Lewis; her brother-in-law, Tim McCallum; and her beloved longtime companion, Kurt Axe.Kay will be remembered for her caring heart, her dedication to nursing, her generosity toward others, her devotion to family history, and the many small but meaningful ways she made those around her feel seen and loved. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched as a nurse, family member, friend, volunteer, and faithful woman of compassion.A funeral service to celebrate Kay's life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Kay will be laid to rest next to her parents and Kurt at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Greene County Humane Society. Andrea Lynn Bixler, 59, of Spencer, passed away at home on Friday evening, September 4, 2026. Born in Indianapolis on June 19, 1967, Andrea was the daughter of Hal D. Job and Sandra (Whitaker) Raisor. She was a 1986 graduate of Tri County High School and later attended beauty school.Andrea’s life was rooted in faith, family, and the little things that made ordinary days meaningful. She was a proud member of Shiloh Wesley Church in Spencer, where her faith remained an important part of who she was. She found joy in collecting photographs and preserving memories through scrapbooking, carefully holding on to the people, places, and moments that mattered most to her.Music was another of Andrea’s great loves, especially the music of Prince. Whether she was listening to a favorite song, working on a scrapbook, celebrating Christmas, or spending time with family, Andrea had a way of bringing personality, warmth, and joy into every moment. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in everything the season represented - tradition, decorations, togetherness, and making memories with those she loved.Above all else, Andrea cherished her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love will continue to live on in the stories shared, the photographs she preserved, the music that brings her to mind, and the family traditions she held so dear.She is survived by her parents; step-mother, Rosemary; her beloved husband, Donald Ray Bixler, whom she married on June 6, 1987; her daughter, Sarah Bixler; her son, Chris Bixler; her grandchildren, Matthew Bixler and Ely Bixler; and her siblings, Dean Job (Samantha), Mark May, Kam Price (Eric), and Sandra May.A funeral service celebrating Andrea’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, of Walton Funeral Service, with Pastor Dr. Diane Wells officiating. William E. "Bill" Kirby Jr., 89, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Greene County General Hospital. He was born August 22, 1937, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of William E. Kirby Sr. and Carolyn (Payton) Raves. Bill worked for most of his life in the coal-mining industry, including at Minnehaha Coal Mine and MX Coal Company. He was a member of the Worthington American Legion, the Linton Elks Lodge, and the United Mine Workers of America. He was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed collecting guns and playing softball. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and his beloved dog, Duke. Bill is survived by his son, Michael Kirby (Maryann); grandchildren, Joshua Kirby, Rachel Banek Kirby (Joe), Sarah Saldivar (Jason), Anna Ossewaarde (Brian), and Melanie Kirby; special companion; Wilma Cochran; his sister, Earlene Johnson (James); 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; his niece, Jamie Johnson; and his favorite dog, Duke. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Genevieve Kirby; his brother, Tom Kirby; and his stepfather, Barnie Raves. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, with Pastor John Pierce officiating. Joseph “Joe” Allen Sanders, 66, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer, Indiana.Joe was born April 13, 1960, in Linton, Indiana, to Edwin and Donna (Welsh) Sanders. He was a 1978 graduate of Owen Valley High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Joe dedicated many years to the Bloomington Police Department, retiring after a respected career in law enforcement.Joe found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful: reading, cooking, riding motorcycles, and, above all, sharing time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his service, his steady presence, and the love he held for those closest to him.He is survived by his children, Heather Sanders; Hana (Josh) Dodds; Holli (Bradley) Sterrett; and Hunter (Colte) Sanders.
